Lisa’s Bio.
I began this journey as a certified fitness trainer in 1990. Since
that time I have been in helping people, understand the relationship
between physical and mental health and overall wellness.
In May of 2000, after taking my first yoga class, I began to see how
integration of the yogasana poses could be the missing link to the
spiritual side of fitness training. This to me
this is truly the meaning of integration
of body, mind and spirit and the cultivation of the higher self.
It’s about improving the body,
better understanding the workings of the mind and, with all those parts
of you in place, a spirit that is free.
The magic of yoga, (meaning to yoke together with God) and
conscious breath must be a personal experience and cannot
be expressed with mere words.
My yoga training and certifications include studying with international
teachers, Anna Forest Forrest yoga, Baron Baptiste power vinyasa, Sean
Corne with
www.offthematintotheworld.org . Being a peaceful yoga activist I
continue to use my yoga on and off the mat to make a difference in my
community and the world in life affirming ways.
To date, I have completed batiste level 1 teacher training and yogafit
teacher training with over 500 hours of study. Areas of study include
the technical, physiological and practical aspects of yogic science.
My teachers have come to me in many forms in this life, via books, the teachers I’ve sought out and especially my greatest teachers, my two children Raquel and James. I aspire to always teach from a place of compassion of which zen buddists call the beginners mind, keeping life fresh and new at every stage. Come join me on your mat and enjoy this amazing ride of life, one breath at a time.
The light which resides in me salutes the light which resides in you. ~ Namaste’~
